Expr.cast(dtype: PolarsDataType | type[Any], *, strict: bool = True) → Self[source]#

Cast between data types.

Parameters:

dtype: DataType to cast to.
strict: Throw an error if a cast could not be done (for instance, due to an overflow).

Examples
